No !@#$s Left to Give is a short abstract visual novel about what you feel about having too many or too little !@#$s left to give. Made for the Only One of Any Asset (O2A2) 2022 Visual Novel Jam, so this visual novel features:

  • About 1000 words total!
  • One sprite!
  • One background!
  • One piece of music!
  • One sound effect!

Unrelated to the jam's specifications, this visual novel also features:

  • Existential dread!
  • Funky text effects and textures!
  • Music by Dan Vallerand!
  • A person having the time of their !@#$ing life.
  • Two routes, but only one ending! Good luck!

It's highly recommended to play the most current version. The 1.0 Version is what was made during the jam and are still live to show what was done for the jam. Be warned that alternative text for voice-to-speech and some accessability functions are not present in 1.0.

‘It’s highly reccomended to play the most current version.’ - typo here, it should be ‘recommended’.

Thank you for catching that! :D

This is like a canvas that perfectly encapsulates anguish at that stage where you simply want to scream (you do and things get worse, or you silently endure and nothing improves). Nice use of scripting for the visuals: the gradients, particle effects, et cetera. The background music track is ominous and perfect match to the escalating story script. I really like the beep SFX for cursing too; it was cute and then got more mechanical the more often you hear it. And then it always loop back to the start, rinse and repeat, forever trapped.

I'm really glad I was able to get those feelings across lol.  And thank you! My one background was the gradient so I was surprised too with how much I was able to convey with just it and text that was generated. Thank you so much for your thoughtful comment :D

Yeah I'm obsessed with the art direction for this, it's soooo good!!

ONce again an amazing vn~

I'm absolutely amazed by how it is delivered. The story are very relatable and understandable, derived from daily life chaos. Also the sound are great!~
